Some months before the dreaded kidnapper and armed robber, Bobisky was captured by the Nigerian police force, the governor had promised whoever gave information that will lead to his capture, the sum of N30million.
The commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Joseph Makun received the cheque on behalf of the whistleblower who until the time of the report, was not known to the public.
The governor who was represented by the secretary to the state government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, confirmed Gov Wike’s stance to assist the police in whatever way to combat criminality in the state.
He reminded the police force of Gov wike’s commitment in the fight against crime and also said the Gov never reneges on his promise of paying a bounty on any criminal the force brings to justice.
He spoke of the arrest and subsequent killing of one of Rivers state most dreaded kidnappers, Don Wanni who was captured by a combined force of the security agencies.
Don Wanni had disturbed the peace of ONELGA for a long while before he was captured and subsequently killed.
Recall the rivers state police command had arrested the most wanted criminal in the state, Honest Digbara, also known as Boboski.
Bobiski, an indigene of Nwidera, in Gokana Local Government Area was caught in the Korokoro community, a location in Khana Local Government area where he used as a hideout for his nefarious activities.
The state police commissioner, Makun had admitted that the arrest of the criminal was possible due to credible information it got from the residents.
